Israeli forces take control of nature reserve fire, dozens of hikers rescued

Magen David Adom announced that there have been no casualties in Nahal Prat.

Israeli firefighters and IDF search and rescue forces took control of a fire that broke out on Sunday along a hiking trail in the Nahal Prat Nature Reserve, east of Jerusalem.

Firefighters at the scene in Nahal Prat, successfully rescued around 30 hikers in the area, with assistance from the IDF Home Front Command and the 669th Search and Rescue Battalion.

Magen David Adom confirmed that there were no casualties in Nahal Prat.

Topographical issues at the scene made it difficult for search and rescue operations.

Additionally, five fire crews are successfully extinguished a fire in the vicinity of Ramat Gan's Safari Park on Sunday afternoon.

Recent blaze across Jerusalem

A blaze that lasted from Wednesday morning until Thursday evening disrupted travel across the Jerusalem area last week.

The fire consumed an estimated 10,000 dunams (2,470 acres) of natural forest, woodland, and open areas.
