Malfunctioning plane safely lands at Ben-Gurion Airport

A United Airlines flight returned to Ben-Gurion Airport for an emergency landing due to an issue with its flaps.

A plane with 169 passengers landed safely after carrying out an emergency landing at Ben-Gurion Airport due to an issue with its flaps on Wednesday afternoon.

United Airlines Flight 85, headed to Newark from Israel, returned towards Israel after takeoff.

Magen David Adom teams, including emergency motorcycles, ambulances and intensive care units, headed to the airport in preparation for the landing.
