Antisemitism is hate speech, and shutting down such racism is not an issue of free speech, UK Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Justice Lord David Wolfson said in a conversation with The Jerusalem Post diplomatic correspondent Lahav Harkov.

The JPost's Jewish World analyst Zvika Klein moderated a combatting antisemitism panel with US Deputy Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism Aaron Keyak; German Government Commissioner for Antisemitism Felix Klein; Racheli Baratz, head of the World Zionist Organization’s Department for Combating Antisemitism; European Commission Coordinator on Combating Antisemitism and Fostering Jewish Life Katharine von Schnurbein; and Lord John Mann, advisor to the British government on antisemitism.

Nir Zuk, founder and CTO of cybersecurity company Palo Alto Networks, spoke to Yaakov Katz about the future of cyberwarfare, and the increasing importance of cybersecurity. Tomorrow’s wars might be fought with fewer guns, words and ideas, but with more malicious code, he said.

Zvika Klein moderated a panel with Jewish organizations on the Ukraine-Russia War. The panel included Eric Fingerhut, president and CEO, Jewish Federations of North America; Haim Ben Yakov, CEO of Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC); and Margarita Spichko Schein, head of the Diaspora division of Israel’s Ministry of Diaspora Affairs.

Four individuals with personal connections to the Holocaust participated in a gripping panel with Zvika Klein. The four were Eitan Neishlos, a third-generation Holocaust survivor from Australia; Eve Kugler, a Holocaust survivor from the United Kingdom; Carolin Hohnecker, a third-generation granddaughter of Nazi SS officers; and Nobuki Sugihara, son of Japanese diplomat Chiune Sugihara.

Dr. Haim Amir, CEO and founder of the Essence Group, an international technology company which develops cloud-based, end-to-end security and healthcare solutions in Israel, said in a speech that Israel’s creativity and hi-tech success is a byproduct of the unstable environment of the Middle East.

Ronit Raphael receives the Jerusalem Post Award

Ronit Raphael, an internationally renowned businesswoman, received the Jerusalem Post Award for accomplishments in beauty, wellness and philanthropy. Raphael, who was unable to be present at the conference, issued prepared remarks on her social and philanthropic activities, which have been directed against the sexual abuse of children.

Two Olympic leaders in conversation with Tamar Uriel-Beeri

Ironically, while sporting competition often pits two people or sides against each other, sport as a whole is a unique unifier both across countries and within societies. Two Olympic leaders – Olympic Committee of Israel President Yael Arad and British Olympic Association Chairman Rt Hon Sir Hugh Robertson – participated in a fascinating panel titled "Olympics as a Bridge" moderated by the managing editor of jpost.1eye.us, Tamar Uriel-Beeri.

Rabbi Dr. Ari Berman, president of Yeshiva University, paraphrased Menachem Begin by saying that Yeshiva University prepares its students to be both ‘Fighting Jews,’ and ‘Inspiring Jews.' Fighting Jews, by utilizing their skills in courtrooms, streets, and halls of power, countering Antisemitism at every turn; Inspiring Jews, who are “not just bold but proud,” who do not just fight to survive but work to bring our values out to the world and inspire.

Communications Minister Yoaz Hendel revealed in a conversation with Lahav Harkov that a taskforce he heads is studying how to locate potential terrorists to thwart their plans, based at least partially on social-media posts.

Haim Taib, president and founder of the Mitrelli Group and the Menomadin Foundation, and an expert in developing and empowering nations, said that Africa can easily turn into the world’s growth engine, creating growth for generations in food security.

Lee Ziv, vice-president of the Port TLV Residence project, made a special presentation to participants at Thursday’s Jerusalem Post London Conference about the new Port TLV residence. Located just 50 meters from the coastline, the Gordon Marina and the Hilton Hotel, and adjacent to Hayarkon Park, the largest park in Tel Aviv, Port TLV was designed by Ilan Pivko, one of Israel’s top architects, who has created numerous projects in Israel and abroad.

Experts discussed the future of UK-Israeli technological innovation as it pertains to the economy, philanthropy, health and daily life. The leaders were Daniel Kessler, Chairman of UK-Israel Business; Daniel Korski, CEO and founder of PUBLIC and former adviser to the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom David Cameron; Dr. Merav Galili, founding CEO of the Menomadin Foundation; and Yaniv Amir, president of Essence USA.

The UK Ambassador to Israel, Neil Wigan, said in a panel with Deputy Ambassador of Israel to the UK Oren Marmorstein that the UK has a big appetite for Israeli military tech and noted a formal military-to-military cooperation agreement signed by the countries in December 2020.

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London

The Jerusalem Post Group is delighted to launch the first international conference of its kind, hosted at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London. The conference was organized in partnership with UK Israel Business. 

The event, which was covered by the international media, hosted leading government officials and business executives from Israel, Britain and around the world and was a meeting point for entrepreneurs, investors and promising companies.

The Jerusalem Post event presented a significant opportunity to discuss major worldwide issues such as technology, medicine, and cyber and put Israeli technology on the map.

The conference will be broadcast on the Facebook channels and media groups of the Jerusalem Post Maariv Group, Walla, and the jpost.1eye.us website.
