La Roche-Posay, the French dermo-cosmetic leader, celebrated its 50th anniversary this week by unveiling a suite of groundbreaking products in Israel and reaffirming its commitment to science-backed solutions for all skin types.

Since its founding in 1975 near the eponymous thermal spring in La Roche-Posay, France, the brand has based its formulations on mineral-rich thermal water, renowned for its soothing and microbiome-balancing properties. Over five decades, it has collaborated closely with dermatologists, researchers, and neuroscience experts to develop targeted treatments for concerns ranging from pigmentation and acne to irritation and dryness.

In Israel, La Roche-Posay’s local division—led by Guy Daneman, CEO of L’Oréal Israel’s Dermo-Cosmetic division—has worked hand-in-hand with the medical community to bring these innovations to market. Daneman said the brand’s milestone “reflects a legacy of life-changing solutions and a promise to continue improving skin health through sustainable practices and cutting-edge research”.

To commemorate its golden anniversary, La Roche-Posay introduced EFFACLAR DUO+ M PATCH, its first transparent blemish-treatment patches. Infused with salicylic acid to accelerate healing, absorb excess oil, and shield against external irritants, the nearly invisible, water-resistant patches can be worn under makeup and retail for NIS 79.90 per pack of 22 in Israel.

The brand also announced a major expansion of its Anthelios sun-protection line and renewed its partnership with the Israeli Skin Cancer Association. During June’s Skin Cancer Awareness Month, La Roche-Posay will sponsor free nationwide screenings conducted by expert dermatologists, part of its broader campaign to combat the 20 million annual cancer diagnoses globally and alleviate severe skin side effects experienced by 80 percent of oncology patients.

Looking ahead, La Roche-Posay pledged to invest further in sustainable packaging, renewable energy, and R&D, ensuring that its next fifty years remain guided by the healing power of thermal water and a steadfast mission to help consumers feel confident in their skin.
