The Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) and the Israel Police on Thursday said they thwarted a planned terrorist car-ramming attack.

The suspect, a Hamas-affiliated resident of Kafr Kanna, near Nazareth, was detained for questioning in February on suspicion of committing security offenses, they said in a statement.

During his detention, security authorities discovered he had written a will and was in possession of Hamas instruction manuals for how to carry out attacks. They also found out that he had planned to carry out a car-ramming attack.

An indictment was expected to be filed against the suspect on Thursday, the statement said.
