Amir Sarsur, 18, was indicted by the prosecution on Sunday morning for taking advantage of and raping a 15-year-old girl who has mental disabilities, acts that were “cruel and violent.”

He was charged with rape and indecent acts toward a minor, in the indictment issued by the Lod District Court. Sarsur and the girl began chatting in April, first on an app called Three and then on WhatsApp. During these conversations, the eventual victim informed him that she was 14 years old.

He lied to her, saying he was 17.

On the evening of April 14, she suggested that they meet. They agreed that she would travel to his apartment in Ramle by cab, a journey he paid for.

She arrived at his address at around 9:20 p.m. He paid the cab driver NIS 200 in cash and made up the difference with his watch, which was worth about NIS 100.

Three women testified that they saw her leave his apartment

Once they were inside the apartment, he immediately pushed her onto the bed and began touching her, including in her genital area, and tried to force her clothes off. She tried to push him off, asked him to stop, and told him she didn’t like what he was doing. He responded that he wanted to have sex with her.

He then took off all of his clothes and forcibly stripped her of her own, all while she begged him to stop.He climbed on top of her and raped her, holding her legs down so she couldn’t push him off. When she tried to use her hand to stop him, he slapped her. She began to scream, but he said no one would hear her. The act continued until he finished.

As soon as it was over, she bent to the floor to gather her clothes. He then grabbed her by the hair and pulled her to him. She repeated that she wanted to leave, and he eventually let her go.

Three women testified that they saw her leave his apartment, that she was limping, crying, and her hair was a mess. They said that she told them she was raped by a man whose description was identical to Sarsur. They then brought her to a police station where she filed the complaint.

Sarsur denied all the charges and claimed that she had initiated the sexual advances, which he said he had refused. In its request to have him detained until all the legal proceedings conclude, the prosecution noted that Sarsur’s acts, “which were cruel and violent,” were carried out for the sole purpose of his pleasures and inclinations, with zero regard to her consent, heightening his danger to the public.
