Police officer, IDF soldier arrested in suspected drug trafficking scheme

An IDF soldier, a police officer, and a third suspect were arrested on suspicion of involvement in the trade and distribution of illegal narcotics, the Police Investigations Department (PID) said on Monday.

The three, all residents of Beersheba, are suspected of coordinating the distribution of the harmful substances through a Telegram group operated by the suspects, the PID added.

The suspects will be brought in front of a court on Monday to extend their detention.

Turkey says Israeli interception of Gaza Freedom Flotilla violated international law

Turkey on Monday condemned Israel's interception of the Gaza-bound flotilla, which it said was carrying Turkish citizens as well as activist Greta Thunberg among its 12-strong crew, calling the move a "clear violation of international law."

The Turkish Foreign Ministry said the intervention threatened maritime security and "once again demonstrates that Israel is acting as a terror state."

 


Iran says 'no news' of new round of nuclear talks with US, criticizes new sanctions

There is currently no news regarding a new round of nuclear negotiations, Iran's Foreign Ministry said on Monday, and criticized the US for imposing new sanctions despite claims of easing them. 

“The claim of halting sanctions was untrue, and new sanctions have been imposed,” the ministry spokesperson, Esmail Baghaei, said.

“This contradictory behavior shows the US is not serious and increases our suspicion.”


Shas will vote to dissolve Knesset with opposition on Wednesday, party spox. says

Shas will vote on Wednesday to dissolve the Knesset, party spokesperson Asher Medina said in an interview with Kol Barama on Monday. 

The spokesperson cited the ongoing draft law crisis, noting that "The ultra-Orthodox public feels persecuted by the Likud and [Defense and Foreign Affairs Committee chairman Yuli] Edelstein."

Police searching for missing person on Sea of Galilee coastline

The Israel Police are conducting searches along the Sea of Galilee coastline after receiving a report on Sunday evening of a missing northern resident, the police said on Monday.

A maritime police unit has been dispatched to the area, with ground forces scanning the coastline.

The individual's personal belongings were discovered on Ein Gev Beach during a search on Sunday night.


Yair Golan criticizes Ben-Gvir, Netanyahu for rising crime in Israel

Democrats chair Yair Golan called National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir "a failed minister" in a post on Twitter/X on Monday morning, referring to Israel's growing crime rate.

"3 murdered in just 8 hours. 14 people were murdered in the last week," Golan wrote, adding, "There is no personal security, no governance. Netanyahu is silent. It depends on him. You have ruined the country, we will save it."


IDF interception of 'Madleen' is 'state terrorism,' Hamas says

Hamas condemned the interception of the Gaza Freedom Flotilla, Madleen, by the IDF early Monday morning, in a statement posted to the group's Telegram.

"Intercepting the Madleen at sea and preventing it from delivering symbolic aid to our people, who are facing a war of genocide, constitutes state terrorism, a blatant violation of international law, and an assault on civilian volunteers motivated by humanitarian concerns," the terror group said.

IDF issues evacuation warning to Palestinians north of Gaza City

IDF Arabic Spokesperson Avichay Adraee issued an evacuation notice to Palestinian residents living in the areas north of Gaza City, including Jabalya and its Al Nahda neighbourhood, asking them to move south on Monday morning in a post to X/Twitter.

"The IDF is operating with great force in the areas where you are present to destroy the capabilities of terrorist organizations for your safety. Evacuate immediately to the known shelters in Gaza City," the post said.

The locations include Jabalya and Jabalya camp, the Old City, and the neighborhoods of Al-Nahda, Al-Rawda, Al-Salam, Al-Nour, Al-Tuffah, Al-Daraj, and Tel Al-Zaatar.
