Israel Police prevented foreign media, including the banned Al Jazeera network, from filming locations of direct hits by Iranian missiles and providing the regime with the location of the hits, the police confirmed on Thursday morning.

The actions were carried out in line with National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir's policy on broadcasting and under the direction of Police Commissioner Danny Levy, with the support of the communications ministry.

Authorities have repeatedly warned not to share the location of missile interceptions and hits, as it could provide the Islamic regime with information to improve the accuracy of their attacks.

Only US can engage Israel and Iran in discussions, Greek PM says

ByREUTERS

Only the United States has the clout to engage Israel and Iran in negotiations as the two countries continue to trade air attacks, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said on Wednesday.

"Europe alone does not have the necessary influence to bring the parties concerned to the negotiation table. Only the United States can do that. So I think it is up to the President of the United States to decide which path to take," Mitsotakis said in an interview on the sidelines of an energy conference in Athens.

The foreign ministers of Germany, France, and Britain plan to hold nuclear talks with their Iranian counterpart on Friday in Geneva, a German diplomatic source told Reuters.

"We are all very concerned about any factor that will push inflation up and significantly disrupt energy markets," Mitsotakis said.

He said Greece was also very worried about the safety of around 180 Greek-flagged and Greek-owned ships that sailed in the wider Persian Gulf region when Israel first attacked Iran last week.

Defense Minister Israel Katz on Thursday directly threatened to assassinate Iranian Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in response to Iranian ballistic missiles striking Beersheba's Soroka Medical Center.

Katz said, "Khamenei will pay for his crimes."

The defense minister added that Israel will now start attacking new kinds of strategic targets in Iran "in order to remove the threats hanging over the State of Israel and to shake the ayatollah's regime."

It was not clear whether this meant the government has now given the order to actually Khamenei, with US President Donald Trump so far wanting to hold off on such a measure to still try to reach some kind of a deal with the regime.

Israel continues to expand its aerial assault on Tehran on the fourth day of its war against Iran, raising speculation about whether the US will join the campaign to help eliminate Iran’s nuclear capabilities.

Since the offensive began Friday, Israel has struck top Iranian military leaders, nuclear scientists, uranium enrichment facilities, and ballistic missile infrastructure.

On Tuesday, US President Donald Trump said he wants to see a “real end” to the conflict, not just a ceasefire. The American president has repeatedly insisted that Iran must not be allowed to develop nuclear weapons or continue enrichment on its soil.
