Israel, Iran conflict to last 'weeks, not days' CNN reports
The operation is moving forward with "implicit US approval," the sources added.
Israel's Operation Rising Lion against Iran is expected to take “weeks, not days," CNN reported Saturday night, citing White House and Israeli officials.
The operation is moving forward with "implicit US approval," the sources added.
United States President Donald Trump's administration "has not critiqued the weeks-long timeframe in private discussions," an Israeli official told CNN.
When asked about the length of the operation, the White House official stated it depended on Iran's response.
“The Trump administration firmly believes this can be solved by continuing negotiations with the US,” the official said, adding that the US was not going to direct Israel to do anything but defend itself.
