Beyonce sports Israeli-designed wedding dress in Disney+'s 'Black is King'
In a shot from the film, she appears in an elaborate white wedding gown by Alon Livne, a designer whose creations she has worn in the past
Singer Beyonce at the 2011 MTV Music Video Awards 370(photo credit: REUTERS)ByHANNAH BROWNWhile diva Beyonce may don dresses of many colors, she keeps coming back to blue and white.The pop princess is releasing a new movie for the Disney+ network called Black is King, in which she wears a wedding dress by Israeli designer Alon Livne.The new movie, which the singer, aka Queen Bey, is calling a "visual album" celebrates the journeys of blacks throughout the ages and tells "a tale about a young king's transcendent journey through betrayal, love and self-identity," according to a Disney press release.Beyonce wrote in an Instagram post featuring highlights from the film that it "is a labor of love. It is my passion project that I have been filming, researching and editing day and night for the past year. I’ve given it my all and now it’s yours... [It's] meant to celebrate the breadth and beauty of Black ancestry. I could never have imagined that a year later, all the hard work that went into this production would serve a greater purpose. The events of 2020 have made the film’s vision and message even more relevant, as people across the world embark on a historic journey."
