IDF and Border Police forces arrested the terrorists who allegedly murdered 17-year-old Rina Shnerb and wounded her father, Rabbi Eitan Shnerb and brother Dvir near Ein Bubin spring in August next to the settlement of Dolev.
The three alleged terrorists, from Ramallah and villages in the Binyamin areas, were said to be members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) who were involved in the planning and execution of the terror attack as well as suspects in other terror attacks committed in the area.
"Throughout the entire process we had full confidence in the security forces and we thank them for the effort invested in catching the killers," said the Shnerb family in response to the capture of the terrorists. "We call on the government to provide full security to every traveler and on the nation of Israel to continue to live, to travel and to add good throughout our land.
Samer Mina Salim Arbid, 44, is one of the PFLP’s officials in Ramallah and was previously arrested for involvement in terrorist activities during the Second Intifada under the direct command of the PFLP leadership, preparing explosive devices and committing terrorist attacks. Arbid set up and activated the IED that killed Rina.
Arbid, the head of the cell that conducted the attack, was hospitalized two days ago in life-threatening condition after being questioned, possibly due to a heart condition, according to Channel 13 news. Arbid was interrogated by the Shin Bet with special legal permits due to a suspicion that the cell possessed an additional explosive for another attack.
"During the questioning of the leader of the terrorist cell that carried out the attack at the spring in Dolev in which Rina Shnerb was murdered, the suspect reported that he didn't feel well, and, according to procedures, he was transferred for examinations and medical care at a hospital," stated the Shin Bet. "The investigation of the terrorist cell is still underway and no further details can be provided."
Kassem a-Karim Ragah Shabli, 25, a member of the PFLP, was arrested in the past for involvement in terrorist activities. Kassem provided the explosives that were used in the IED as well as assisted in assembling it and took part in the killing of Shnerb.
Yazen Hassin Hassni Mjames, 25, also a resident of Ramallah and a member of the PFLP, was arrested in the past and took part in the planning and execution of the attack near the Ein Bubin spring.
The three took part in the planning and committing of several other terrorist attacks including shooting attacks and kidnappings.
A second IED was found by the security forces who disposed of it on the field.
