The world's largest shared micro-mobility company, Lime, in collaboration with Dizengoff Center, is launching a new initiative to emphasize the importance of wearing helmets to encourage safety while riding any type of scooter or bike.
Lime will host an experiential workshop for children where they can design helmets for their parents, helping to ensure their safety when cycling or scootering. The workshop will be led by influencer and fashion workshop leader Leon Schneiderovsky, who will assist families in creating enjoyable and creative designs. Each child will receive an adult-sized helmet as a gift, which they will decorate using various crafting materials and techniques for their parents.
The workshop is open to parents and children at no cost, and will take place at the "Boutique" area (Basement 1, between Building A and Building B) in Dizengoff Center on Monday, June 17, 2024, from 16:00 to 19:00.
In addition to educating children about the importance of helmet use, Lime hopes that parents will proudly wear these newly designed helmets and feel motivated to prioritize their safety when riding in Tel Aviv. According to statistics from the Israeli Ministry of Health, wearing a helmet reduces the risk of head injury by 50%. Moreover, fines for not wearing a helmet while riding any electric vehicle amount to 1,000 shekels.

We feel a duty to convey this message to every parent who rides small vehicles, and of course to the children who join the cycling circle with maturity. We greatly appreciate the tremendous adoption of our scooters by city residents in Israel overall, and particularly in Tel Aviv. Education on safety values is very important to us, whether it's riders on our shared scooters or on private vehicles."
Lime operates in various ways to promote safe riding and safe public spaces for pedestrians, and applauds the promotion of the new law by the Ministry of Transportation regulating the registration of all electric vehicles in Israel. Furthermore, starting August 1, local authorities are expected to begin enforcing the mandatory helmet law and designated bike lane riding exclusively through license plate identification required to be installed by all electric vehicle owners in Israel.
