We pay a lot for our water bills. In recent years, many cases have emerged where corporate clients paid amounts not matching actual water consumption. Numerous class action lawsuits are underway against water corporations on various issues, all related to increased water consumption. In some cases, we see inflated electricity bills seemingly due to minor discrepancies accumulating over years, affecting us in the long term. A new product marketed in recent months promises to reduce water bills, prevent free flow and unnecessary consumption, and accurately meter water usage, ensuring precise payment for the water you use.

Our water bills are influenced by our water consumption, but we're also affected by water fluctuations within pipes. Free water flow in the main pipe continues to turn the water meter, even if it's not used by anyone. Water corporations cannot prevent meter counting, and customers are forced to pay. The higher the actual water consumption, the higher the charges for unused water fluctuations.

In recent years, efforts have been made to combat this issue. Several class action lawsuits are currently underway against various water corporations for inflated charges, seemingly by thousands of percent. Alongside these, professionals and companies have begun producing and marketing products to reduce payments due to free water movement in pipes. Recently, a new line promising to completely eliminate additional charges for water never used has joined the market.

David Yerushalmi from KSSD Water Solutions says, 'Many of us may not know it, but our water meters are not always accurate, leading us to pay more for water we didn't use. Today, the market offers solutions for this.'

The internet offers various ways to reduce unnecessary water consumption, as well as tips for measuring true water usage through different management techniques. Additional information can be found on the Paamonim association website. On a practical level, there are now several products that can be installed by plumbers to reduce free water flow in pipes. Yerushalmi discusses a new solution tested by over 1000 Israeli consumers.

'When there's bi-directional water flow, our water meter continues to run even when we're not using water, resulting in inflated bills due to double counting of water and air in the pipes. The 'Blockages of God' product, installed easily, maintains water flow in one direction, ensures proper water measurement, and thus saves hundreds and thousands of shekels annually on water consumption.'

'The product operates on the principle of stabilizing water pressures in the system, preventing water and air from returning to the water meter, stopping the meter from running after consumption ends, and reducing charges by an average of 25%! The product does not contain lead or substances that alter water composition and does not harm water quality in any way.'

Customers who installed the additives in their pipes report an immediate change in meter operation. Roni Hamisha, a consumer who installed the blockages, says, 'I checked the meters of all the building's residents. It was noticeable that even when residents were away and not using water, my meters significantly slowed down to a complete stop while others continued to run. I haven't received my water bill yet and haven't changed water consumption at home, but I expect a significant reduction just from observing the water meter.'

Yerushalmi adds, 'All reliable and authorized products available are easy to install and require no ongoing operation. Typically, installation can be performed in a few minutes by any plumber, with low installation costs, ensuring savings on water bills.'"
