The airline Cathay Pacific announced yesterday (Wednesday) to its customers that it does not intend to operate the route to Israel before March 2025.

Cathay Pacific is the national airline of Hong Kong, and it operated direct flights from Tel Aviv to Hong Kong until October 7. Like other international airlines, the company stopped its operations in Israel since the outbreak of the war. While some have already returned to operations, the company announced that it suspended the operation of the line until October 2024. Now, it chooses to extend the suspension for another period of time.

In doing so, the company joins a long list of companies that do not plan to return to Israel soon, including Turkish Airlines, EasyJet and Air Canada.
