Jonathan Merage joins the esteemed roster of donors for the Beresheet2 spacecraft's journey to the Moon. Today (Monday), the Merage Israel Foundation, a private philanthropic fund founded by David and Laura Merage in 1998, rooted in the pioneering spirit, entrepreneurship, and innovation of Israel, announced a donation to SpaceIL to support the organization's activities in both developing the Beresheet2 mission and its educational initiatives, which include the innovative SpaceUP program in aerospace engineering.
Shimon Sarid, CEO of SpaceIL, stated, "We are grateful for the trust that the Merage Foundation places in us and the vision of the organization. The financial support will allow the organization to continue its educational activities alongside the ongoing development of advanced space technologies within the framework of the Beresheet2 mission, bringing us one step closer to our goal – to land an Israeli spacecraft on the Moon once again while breaking records that will lead to significant impact on both future generations and all of us as a nation. We thank the foundation for its generous support, and we continue to raise resources from both private donors and governmental entities."
Jonathan Merage remarked: "Israel has endured hardships and traumas for far too long; our country needs a historic, defining, and inspiring event that we can celebrate together in solidarity and unity as part of the rehabilitation of society. The event of an advanced technological spacecraft landing on the Moon, broadcast live to the entire world, can convey a clear and distinct message: Israel stands strong, undefeated, and undeterred by antisemitism and terror. Israel fully embraces the spirit of positive unity through growth, victory, and prosperity via technological innovation."
