Wolt, the delivery platform, has officially launched its operations in Sderot, Netivot, and approximately 30 surrounding communities, including Kibbutz Kfar Aza and Kibbutz Be'eri. Today (Tuesday), Wolt executives met with the mayors of Sderot and Netivot to receive their blessings for the company's new regional activities. During the launch period, customers and guests can enjoy free delivery until the end of the summer. Lior Eshkol, CEO of Wolt Israel, stated, "We chose to launch Wolt in the region now, as many businesses are recovering and resuming operations, to drive additional economic activity that will strengthen the area."
Starting today, residents of Be'eri, Kfar Aza, Sderot, Netivot, and about 30 other communities in the Gaza Envelope can connect to Wolt, which currently operates in about 300 locations from Dan to Eilat. Simultaneously, dozens of shops and restaurants from the area have joined Wolt during the launch. Around 50 couriers will deliver orders to local residents, soldiers, and security and rescue personnel deployed in the area. In recent weeks, Wolt representatives met with the mayors of Netivot and Sderot, who welcomed the move, saying it signifies the continued renewal of normal life and support for the residents of these communities.
Wolt's delivery service will operate daily from 9 AM to 11 PM, featuring numerous local restaurants and stores. To support local businesses, Wolt has decided on a unique benefit for the Gaza Envelope: all residents, security personnel, and visitors in the area can order via the app without delivery fees until the end of the summer vacation.
Avishai Schlesinger, owner of "Hamburger HaBikta" in Kibbutz Maimon, is one of the business owners who joined the service. He remarked, "We in the Gaza Envelope rebuild ourselves every day. The entire region has experienced upheaval, and now we are bringing life back to our businesses. Wolt's platform will help us reach more customers, security forces, and visitors who are starting to arrive. I'm thrilled that residents have this opportunity to use these tools and bring back a bit of joy after such a challenging period. I invite everyone to come visit, support, and revive this wonderful area that we will never give up on."
List of communities where Wolt will operate:Sderot, Netivot, Kfar Aza, Be'eri, Nir Am, Alumim, Sa'ad, Mefalsim, Ibim, Gevim, Dorot, Yachini, Nir Akiva, Nir Moshe, Shuva, Zohar, Tkuma, Mabu'im, Eshbol, Klachim, Shdei Tzvi, Pa'amei Tashaz, Tlamim Bilu, Yushivia, Beit HaGadi, Sharsheret, Ma'agalim, Shibolim, Givolim, Melilot, Shokeda, Kfar Maimon, Tushia, Zimrat, Shuva.
Lior Eshkol, CEO of Wolt Israel, added, "We chose to launch Wolt in the region now, as many businesses are recovering and resuming operations, to drive additional economic activity that will strengthen the area. Many residents told us during the war that they were exposed to Wolt's services in places they were evacuated to and asked us to come to the region when they returned. It was clear to us that we needed to reach the homes and businesses of these people when they came back, and now we are here."
Wolt's delivery platform operated continuously throughout the war, serving as an infrastructure to provide customers with food, supplies, medicines, children's toys, and more during the period of uncertainty.
