Two teenage boys have been arrested in Bnei Brak after an incident involving trash being set alight and fireworks being launched at civilians.
A 17-year-old boy was taken to hospital by ambulance with a serious injury to his eye due to a firework being exploded towards his face. The boy has now been put into surgery with the hopes of saving his vision, according to Mako.
The two people that were arrested, later identified to be a 17-year-old and 18-year old, did not initially respond to a police officer's request that they stop. A gun was then pulled on them, and they were forcibly searched. Four fireworks were found in their possession.
"I was at home when I heard the sound of explosives exploding from the street. A few moments later, children ran to me and called me to help a boy who was wounded in the face and suffered a bloody bruise. I gave him initial medical treatment that included dressing and stopping the bleeding and we evacuated him in an MDA ambulance for further treatment at the hospital when his condition is stable," said MDA senior medic Sharon Shalom to MAKO.
