Wells Fargo says it blocked accounts related to government of Iran

Wells Fargo blocked and reported accounts in 2024 that met the US sanctions enforcement agency's definition of "government of Iran," it said in a regulatory filing on Tuesday.

The bank does not intend to engage in further activity with accounts that met this definition, it added.
