An Israel Air Force aircraft killed Hezbollah terrorist Mohammed Mahdi Ali Shaheen in the Hermel area of Lebanon on Thursday, the military announced on Friday.

He was responsible for overseeing transactions for the buying of weapons on the Syrian-Lebanese border during the Israel-Lebanon ceasefire.

A senior member in the terror group’s Geographical Unit, Shaheen conducted deals to purchase weapons and acted as a middleman for the arrival of shipments and transferring them to the Hezbollah units.

To do so, the terrorist worked with various smugglers and dealers on the Syrian-Lebanese border, the IDF said.

A 'violation of understandings'

“Shaheen’s actions posed a threat to the State of Israel and constituted a violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon,” the military said in its statement.
