The IDF killed a Hezbollah commander from the terrorist organization's Shaqif area on Saturday morning in the Mazraat Jemjim, near the city of Tyre, the military stated.
The IDF statement came hours after the the Hezbollah-affiliated Al Mayadeen news outlet reported that an Israeli drone struck a car on Abu al-Aswad Street.

The terrorist that was stuck was responsible for reestablishing Hezbollah infrastructure in the area, the IDF said, adding that the reconstruction of infrastructure by the terrorist organization "constitutes a blatant violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon."
The Saudi news source Al-Hadath was the first to report that the person who was killed in the strike was a Hezbollah operative.
Strikes attributed to Israel were also reported in the Yarin area near Tyre, Al-Akhbar, another Hezbollah-affiliated news source, reported, stating that a warehouse for sanitary equipment and a factory were targeted.
Previous violent incidents in southern Lebanon
The strike attributed to Israel comes a few days after Israel confirmed that it struck a Hezbollah commander in southern Lebanon on Wednesday.
Later that day, UNIFIL said that direct fire from the Israeli army had hit the perimeter of one of its peacekeeping positions in south Lebanon. There was no comment from the IDF on the incident.
UNIFIL said the incident on Tuesday was the first of its kind since Israel and Hezbollah agreed to a ceasefire last November.
Two days later, on Friday, civilians with metal rods and axes attacked UN peacekeepers in southern Lebanon. There were no injuries in the incident, but there was damage to UN vehicles.
