Iran, IAEA discuss nuclear negotiations, sanctions relief

Araghchi held a phone call with Rafael Grossi, the director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), on Saturday evening, the Iranian foreign minister said in a X/Twitter post.

The two sides reportedly discussed nuclear negotiations and sanctions relief and exchanged views on the IAEA’s recently published Iran report.

Iran's "nuclear activities are conducted under the agency’s supervision and within the framework of the safeguards agreement," Araghchi claimed, adding that there had not been a  "deviation in Iran's nuclear activities or materials."

Araghchi asked Grossi to "clarify Iran’s cooperation with the agency during next week’s Board of Governors meeting and highlight the consequences of any politically motivated action."

He added that any party that tried to "misuse the IAEA" in order to "advance political goals against Iran would bear full responsibility for the repercussions."
