Fires break out across the country due to heatwave

Fire brigade teams across the country are working on controlling fires that are breaking out in forests and fields due to the current heatwave.

Firefighters have been working to put out fires across the country on Monday. Many of the fires are being contained but according to the spokespersons of the Israeli Fire and Rescue Services, most of the fires are ongoing and have not been extinguished.  
Beit Shemesh: Around 12:30 the fire brigades were notified about a forest-fire in Ramat Beit Shemesh. The fire spread towards a residential building causing damage to two apartments.  
Seven fire brigade teams have been working to contain the fire with the help of firefighting aircrafts. While trying to contain the fire, one of the firemen was injured by a vehicle which was passing through the area. 
Kiryat Malachi: Three fires have spread in the Kiryat MalachI area where firefighting aircrafts have managed to contain the fire but not to extinguish it.
Haifa: Fire brigades contain a bushfire between Usfiya and Yad Labanim Street in Haifa from spreading towards residential buildings in the area. 
 
Kibbutz Kfar Rupin: Six fire brigade teams are working on containing fires in the Ma’ayanot Valley. 
 
Zichron Ya’acov: Eight fire brigade teams alongside firefighting aircrafts are working to contain an ongoing forest fire in Zichron Ya’acov area. Road 67 has been blocked from Shefiya intersection to Fureidis Junction. 
 
Gedera: Around the same time as Beit Shemesh a fire broke out in an open area in Gedera. Five teams were called to the scene. Road 40 was blocked from Kedron intersection to Gedera intersection. While clearing out the residents of the area from their homes, the fire brigade managed to tame the fires but minutes later a forest fire started forcing police to block a different section of Road 40. 
 
Kochav Yair: Fires in the Kochav Yair area have been managed and kept in the fields nearby. 
 
Tzur Yitchak: A number of fires that started in the entrance of Tzur Yitzchak have been extinguished.

Kalansuwa: Four fire brigade teams are working to extinguish a large bushfire between two residential homes. 
 
Most of Israel has experienced a heat wave that was set to break Monday afternoon, Maariv reported. 
The fire brigade's Information and Population Training Branch advised citizens not to light any fires in open areas and to follow safety instructions: Stay away from areas with forests or dried up fields. If you live in a house near a forest clear any weeds surrounding the house. In case of fire call 102 for the fire brigade.
