A small home, a big vision: Designing a two-room apartment on an accessible budget
In a vibrant and inspiring city, interior designer Shira Caspi took on the special challenge of designing a two-room apartment in Athens for a young couple.

In a city where work moves fast and creatively, Shira Caspi, Chief Designer at Beta Real Estate, adopted a consistent approach of efficiency and precision. Every detail—from flooring selection to lighting—underwent a selection process focused on the best value for money. This resulted in a comfortable and stylish space that feels larger than it actually is.
The main factor in the design is creating a unique identity that connects natural materials, clean lines, and light color schemes, inspired by the vibrant aesthetics of Athens. Mirrors and glass partitions, large windows that bring nature inside, and soft lighting—all convey a sense of airiness, spaciousness, and warmth.
Every centimeter counts. Shira designed smart furniture solutions, modular partitions, and thoughtful storage to maximize the sense of a flowing, bright, and comfortable space. A harmony of light and movement areas creates a pleasant flow in the apartment.
Natural light in Athens is a critical resource, so we emphasized tall windows, mirrors, and dark tiles that enhance the sense of space. Soft lighting that continues the natural light into the night upgrades the rooms and connects the home to the outside.
The principle of sustainability leads every stage of the design, from recycled materials to energy-efficient air conditioning systems, thermal insulation, and energy conservation. In this way, the apartment became sustainable, smart, and environmentally friendly—for the benefit of both the residents and the city.
Shira shares that she ensured every element—from furniture to the smallest details—was tailored to the couple’s needs and lifestyle. Smart storage solutions, functional work areas, and the use of light, hidden color palettes—all contribute to a warm, inviting home.
