The barrage of Iranian missiles has affected some lawmakers. Likud MK Hanoch Dov Milwidsky’s home was damaged by a missile in one of the sites that were hit, as was Lapid’s son’s.

In an interview with The Jerusalem Post, Milwidsky preferred not to divulge the location of the attack for security reasons. He did say, however, that the direct hit occurred across from his home and that the ensuing shock wave caused the damage.

Milwidsky was not home when this happened.

“In the [opposite] building, people were killed, people were injured. It was a very difficult sight to see,” Milwidsky said, adding that the damage to his own home was “negligible” in comparison.

“I saw the firefighters, rescue services, and volunteers of the municipality entering the fire and smoke in the building that was in danger [of collapsing] and running to the rescue... The personal damage is really negligible,” Milwidsky said.

He added that, with Knesset activity reduced, he was mainly busy helping individual citizens with medical needs, addressing property compensation issues for people whose homes had been damaged, visiting wounded people at hospitals in coordination with hospital staff, and more.

Milwidsky said that a WhatsApp group formed by Knesset MKs following the October 7 massacre continued to operate, and they were cooperating across the aisle to help civilians with specific requests.

Milwidsky, a member of the Knesset Finance Committee, mentioned that the panel would convene to discuss the issue of property compensation, since the breadth of the damage to property caused by the Iranian missiles was immense.

Lapid's son's home damaged by Iranian missile

An Iranian missile also damaged opposition leader MK Yair Lapid’s son’s home, Lapid said in a video from one of the damaged bedrooms on Monday.

In the video, Lapid held up a shard of glass that fell where his one-year-old granddaughter’s head should have been and said that had she been there, she could have died.

The opposition leader called on Israelis to heed the IDF Home Front Command’s instructions.
