Israel recovered a video of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar in a tunnel under Gaza's Khan Yunis. The IDF revealed the video to the public on Tuesday evening.
Sinwar was captured on film on October 10 by a camera installed by Hamas, IDF Spokesperson R.-Adm. Daniel Hagari said that evening. The IDF has reportedly been operating in that tunnel in recent days. Hagari added that the video shows Sinwar fleeing with one of his wives and his children.
The IDF spokesperson noted that the IDF had arrested family members of Hamas terror leaders, adding that these relatives are "providing us with large amounts of intelligence."
Sinwar's first appearance since October 7
The video marks the Hamas leader's first appearance since October 7 and the subsequent war on Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
In December, the IDF released a video of Sinwar's brother driving through a tunnel in Gaza.
Maariv further noted that the video reveals that Sinwar is in good physical condition, without injuries.
The video shows the Hamas head carrying a bag and wearing a t-shirt, loose-fitting pants, and flip-flops.
"This video of Sinwar is a result of the hunt we are conducting after him," Hagari stated. "The hunt will not stop until we capture him - alive or dead. We are determined to capture him - and we will."
This is a developing story.
