Turkey is "cautiously optimistic" about an agreement between the Kurdish-led and US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces and Syria's new government, a Turkish official said on Tuesday, adding that Ankara wanted to first see how it would be implemented.
The official told Reuters that the agreement did not change Turkey's determination in counter-terrorism and that Ankara maintained its demand for the YPG militia, which spearheads the SDF that Turkey views as a terrorist organization, to disband and disarm.
