Changing the venue of Iran-US talks might 'jeopardize any beginning', Iran's foreign ministry says

A second round of nuclear talks between the United States and Iran, scheduled for Saturday, will take place in Rome rather than Oman's Muscat, according to a source familiar with the matter.

The venue of the upcoming talks has now shifted twice - from Rome to Muscat and back to Rome. Axios was first to report the latest venue change.

Iran's foreign ministry spokeperson compared the venue of the Iran-US nuclear talks to a goalpost on Wednesday, saying moving it might 'jeopardize any beginning'.

Baghaei's comments on X came after Iran's state media and sources briefed on the matter said the venue of Iran-US nuclear talks had been moved from Oman to Italy.
