Brazil supports the formation of a Palestinian state and condemns Israeli military operations in the West Bank and Gaza, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva said in a statement.
The statement also condemned Jerusalem's announcement that the government has approved 22 sites for new settlements in the West Bank.
