IAF launches fresh wave of strikes in Lebanon after massive Hezbollah attack

Israel Air Force fighter jets struck dozens of Hezbollah targets, including rocket launches and military structures in several areas in southern Lebanon in a fresh wave of attacks, the IDF stated on Sunday morning.

The IDF added that it carried out the strikes under the direction of the Military Intelligence Directorate and the Northern Command. 

KAN reported that the IAF carried out over 60 strikes throughout Sunday morning, leading to three people killed and two wounded in Lebanon. 

This response follows Hezbollah's deepest barrage into Israel since the beginning of the war, including over 140 rockets and drones fired toward northern Israel.

Ali Reda Abbas was appointed the new commander of Hezbollah's Radwan unit following the death of former commander Ibrahim Aqil in an Israeli airstrike in Dahieh, Beirut, as reported on Saturday by Al-Hadath, a Hezbollah-affiliated Lebanese outlet.

Abbas, 60, was born in Barish, southern Lebanon, and survived an assassination attempt in the 1990s while closely working with Aqil, highlighting his long-standing involvement in Hezbollah. He has held various military roles and is recognized as a key operations officer within Hezbollah’s southern command, marking him as part of the organization’s third generation.

Abbas reportedly possesses a university degree and has received advanced military training in Iran, often appearing in the media with his face covered when discussing Hezbollah's military operations.

Hospitals and medical centers in Israel's North to operate in sheltered areas, Health Ministry says

Several hospitals and medical centers will operate in sheltered areas, the Health Ministry reported on Sunday morning. 

The decision was made following consultations with the Director General of the Health Ministry, hospital management, and the Home Front Command.

This includes the Carmel, Ziv, Nahariya, Emek, Poriya, and Italian hospitals and medical centers, all in northern Israel. 

The Rambam Health Care Campus in Haifa will also move operations to a secure space.

Two homes hit in Kiryat Bialik, three wounded in fourth wave of rocket attacks from Lebanon

Two houses were hit in Kiryat Bialik following a fourth wave of rocket attacks from Lebanon into Israel on Sunday morning, according to Israeli media.

Three people sustained light injuries, Magen David Adom (MDA) reported, and fires have broken out in the area.

Two 70-year-old men were injured by shrapnel, one in moderate condition and the other in mild condition, MDA stated early on Sunday. Additionally, a 16-year-old girl was lightly wounded, also due to shrapnel.

IDF intercepts cruise missiles, rockets from Iraq near Golan Heights - report

Iranian-backed militias in Iraq fired rockets to the southern Golan Heights, while an additional drone approached Israel from the east.

The IDF intercepted two cruise missiles as well as rockets that were fired from Iraq at the southern Golan Heights on Sunday, Israeli state broadcaster KAN reported.

The targets did not cross into Israeli territory, and sirens were activated as per protocol, the IDF stated early that morning. 

Additionally, a drone was identified approaching Israel from the east, resulting in drone infiltration sirens in the Arava in southern Israel, the IDF stated early on Sunday.

IDF retaliates after Hezbollah's deepest attack yet: Over 140 rockets, six wounded

Across four separate barrages throughout the early hours of Sunday morning, the IDF detected over 140 rockets and drones.

Hezbollah fired its deepest barrage into Israel since the beginning of the current war, with four rounds of over 140 rockets and drones fired into the Jezreel Valley in the early hours of Sunday morning, the IDF confirmed. 

Alerts were sounded in and around Haifa, the Ramat David air base, Nazareth, Afula, the lower Galilee, and the Jezreel Valley.

Following the barrage, the IDF stated that they were conducting strikes against Hezbollah targets in Lebanon. 

As a result of the fire on northern Israel, six people were wounded, and they were evacuated to the Emek Medical Center in Afula, the Medical Center announced. Magen David Adom (MDA) teams were called to treat four individuals with shrapnel injuries, including a 76-year-old man in moderate condition, as well as a 70-year-old man, a 60-year-old man, and a 16-year-old girl in moderate condition. Initial reports also stated that one person had been killed and that most of the casualties were from a car accident resulting from panic from the rocket fire.
