In a press statement, the Israel Police spokesperson urged Israelis to carry guns for personal safety amid the High Holy Days.

In Israel, a political crisis may be sparked by concerns about the weapons ending up in the hands of terrorists.  

I blame Israeli military leaders going back 3 decades who not only soft-pedaled the dangers of Oslo, but also promised Israelis a demilitarized West Bank and Gaza under all political circumstances.

Since the year began police have confiscated 1,233 pistols, 218 rifles, 493 improvised weapons, 54 shotguns, 453 different types of grenades, 231 explosive charges, and 166,176 rounds of ammunition.

According to initial police suspicion, the RPG was fired as part of an ongoing dispute between two gangs.
