New Dairy and Milky Bazooka, Yotvata and Strauss
The southern dairy is shaking up its coolers with a special pink milk drink. This collaboration between brands presents a bubblegum-flavored milk drink in a pack of six 225 ml sachets. It's sweet, but not aggressively so, with just the right amount of nostalgia for adults who remember their childhoods, while still appealing to kids. It’s especially charming when the pouch settles in your hand, just like it did back in the day.
Strauss adds its own twist to this cross-brand collaboration with a special edition of Milky in bubblegum flavor. The dessert includes a pink bubblegum-flavored pudding layer, classic whipped cream on top, and fortune-cookie-style jokes on the lids of the cups.
White Wine, Bodegas Santalba
The Scottish importer Yisharco is expanding its local catalog, bringing another kosher representative from the Spanish Rioja region.
This wine is made from Viura grapes grown in sustainable vineyards near the Ebro River. It features prominent yellowish hues, pleasant citrus and floral aromas, and a refreshing, tangy taste suited to the Israeli climate. Price: NIS 54.90.
Watermelon-Lychee Vodka, Van Gogh
What’s left to drink now? Van Gogh Vodka from the Netherlands presents a new flavor combination of watermelon and lychee, merging the red fruit from Africa with the lighter Asian counterpart to create “a masterpiece of cultural meeting through refreshing flavors,” as described by the company.
These may be big words, but the drink from ODB Distilleries doesn’t need them. The base vodka is excellent, the flavors stand out without being artificial, and the fruity dialogue softens the overall profile. Served on ice, it’s a strong drink that speaks for itself. With lemon and tonic, it’s the perfect mixer.
Oat Groats, Sugat
The large food company continues to expand its offerings, now introducing a new and intriguing grain option.
These oat groats focus on health but also offer a touch of indulgence. Made from whole-cut grains, they are minimally processed, unlike thick oats or Quaker oats, preserving their nutritional value.
They absorb slowly and are considered filling, requiring cooking similar to that of brown rice. The result is versatile, allowing for control over textures and uses (whether as a side dish or the base for a complete meal). It’s forgiving, ready to be adapted to sweet versions, rice pudding styles, or indulgent versions for those days when you crave a treat.
MCT Oil, Bara Herbs
The food and wellness store expands its catalog with a new product promising intriguing benefits.
This organic MCT oil (NIS 95 for 500 ml), made from coconut, is also known as "the healthy oil." It’s a dominant source of medium-chain fatty acids, which are digested differently than other fats and are especially popular with those on ketogenic diets.
According to the company, it absorbs faster than other oils and can provide quicker, more efficient energy, with promises to aid in weight loss and even improve cognitive performance.
These claims are, of course, subjects for more thorough and prolonged testing. As for the taste, it is lighter and subtler than other oils, offering a nice balance whether drizzled on a large salad or used in hot dishes.
Cooking Sauces, Knorr
The international food brand is expanding its local catalog with an expected new addition to its cooking range.
Knorr launches three sauces: teriyaki-sesame, garlic and sweet chili, and garlic-honey. These sauces are designed to shorten cooking time, elevate dishes, and provide a kick just when we need it most.
The flavors are good, leaning slightly towards the East (though sweet chili goes with just about anything), and they work well together, especially in a large stir-fry with rice, which can handle just about any combination.
