Even though your Black Friday orders haven't yet arrived, the world is already holding its breath for Travel Tuesday—the annual sales day dedicated to travel.
Officially, the big weekend of the shopping season isn’t over yet. If you're planning your next vacation, it's worth waiting until this upcoming Tuesday, December 5, when we celebrate "Travel Tuesday," an international sales day focused entirely on travel and vacations.
While Black Friday and Cyber Monday offer deals on a wide range of products, Travel Tuesday specializes solely in travel deals: Flights, hotels, vacation packages, cruises, and organized tours. This is a relatively new trend in the sales world, which has quickly become a global event with participation from tourism companies worldwide.
Local Deals
Many companies in Israel are already gearing up for the sales day. For instance, Kishrey Teufa offers a special discount with the code NOV24, granting $25 off per person on vacation packages and organized tours, $15 off on available flights, and $10 off for flight bookings via the website.
Hashatiach Hameofef is launching a $100 discount per person on vacation packages and organized tours to Dubai with the coupon code DXB100. The discount applies to all available dates to Dubai, including Hanukkah, New Year's Eve, Passover, and Coldplay's concerts in nearby Abu Dhabi. For flight-only bookings, a $50 discount per person is available with the coupon code DXB50. The promotion will be valid from December 3 to 10 on The Flying Carpet's website.
Oren Cohen Meguri, VP of Marketing and Sales at Hashatiach Hameofef, said: "As we do every year, we are offering our customers the most relevant and appealing deals for the season. Dubai is currently at the top of demand with over 100 flights a week, making it the most sought-after destination for Israelis seeking a winter getaway with summer vibes just a short flight away. Travel Tuesday is the perfect day to plan your next vacation at an attractive price, much like Black Friday for the world of tourism."
International Offers
International companies are also fully prepared for the special day. Jet2 offers £100 off per person and up to £400 off for a group of four, along with 20% discounts on winter flights and 15% on summer flights. Booking.com provides up to 35% off on selected hotels, while TUI offers discounts of up to £300 on select vacations. Additionally, the Marriott chain offers up to 20% off stays in destinations like Costa Rica, Brazil, and Mexico.
How to Prepare for the Sales Day
First, it’s recommended to do your homework. Check prices in advance so you can identify a real discount when you see one. Sign up for platforms like Skyscanner, which can send you alerts about relevant deals, and join the mailing lists of your preferred airlines and hotels.
It's also wise to set a budget in advance and stick to it. No matter how tempting a deal may look, if it exceeds your budget, it’s not the right deal for you. Additionally, the more flexible you are with dates and destinations, the higher your chances of finding particularly attractive offers.
Most importantly, read the fine print before making any purchase. Travel companies often impose specific restrictions on discounted products, so it’s crucial to understand the cancellation policies, what’s included in the price, and any required insurance.
The deals will start at midnight between Monday and Tuesday, although some companies may release their offers as early as Monday. Since most promotions are valid for only 48 hours or until stocks run out, it’s recommended to act quickly—but not at the expense of carefully reviewing the details of the deal.
