The names of several Israeli soccer players suspected of defrauding Israel’s National Insurance Institute were released on Friday, as authorities continue investigating alleged fraudulent injury claims totaling NIS 13 million, Israeli media reported.
Investigators suspect that a number of the individuals involved reported extended injuries that kept them off the field in order to fraudulently claim insurance benefits, Israeli news outlets noted.
