Magnitude 5.5 earthquake strikes southern Iran region, EMSC says

An earthquake of magnitude 5.5 struck the southern Iran region, the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) said on Thursday.

The quake was at a depth of 27 kilometers (16.78 miles), EMSC said.
