IDF confirms Mahamad El Atrash killed on October 7, body taken to Gaza

Warr. Ofc. Mahamad El Atrash, 39, from Mulada was killed on October 7 and his body was taken into Gaza, the IDF confirmed on Monday.

Atrash was a soldier in the Bedouin Trackers Unit in the Northern Brigade of the Gaza Division.

Anti-tank missile from Lebanon hits Galilee, starts fire

An anti-tank missile was fired from Lebanon struck the Galilee on Monday morning, causing a fire to erupt, Israeli media reported.

The missile hit an open area between Manara and Margaliot.

No casualties were reported.

Israel-Hezbollah war risks spilling over, Borrell says after Cyprus threat

European foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said on Monday that the Middle East was close to seeing the conflict expanding into Lebanon just days after Iran-backed Hezbollah threatened EU member Cyprus.

"The risk of this war effecting the south of Lebanon and spilling over is every day bigger," Borrell told reporters ahead of a foreign ministers meeting in Luxembourg.

"We are on the eve of the war expanding."

Iran-backed Hezbollah began attacking Israel shortly after Hamas' Oct. 7 assault sparked the war in Gaza. Hezbollah has said it would not stop until there is a ceasefire in Gaza.

IDF to allow Gazans through Kerem Shalom crossing for first time since start of war

Palestinian news reported on Monday that Palestinians will be able to leave the Gaza Strip through the Kerem Shalom crossing - for the first time since the beginning of the war.

The crossing will be permitted after a security check and coordination with Civil Administration personnel to prevent the escape of wanted persons and terrorists.

Sources in the Southern Command confirmed the announcements and said that this is an initial move designed to allow Palestinian patients to go abroad for treatment in coordination with Egypt.
