Israel-Hamas War: What happened on day 363?

Israel allegedly tried to eliminate former Hezbollah secretary-general Hassan Nasrallah's successor, Hashem Safieddine, in the Dahieh suburb in Beirut, Israeli media reported early on Friday, citing Lebanese reports. These reports could not be verified. 

The strikes targeted a meeting of senior Hezbollah leaders, including Safieddine, three Israeli officials told The New York Times.

Safieddine, as head of Hezbollah's executive council, oversees the group's political affairs. He also sits on the Jihad Council, which manages the group's military operations, Reuters reported. Safieddine is a cousin of Nasrallah and was designated as a terrorist by the US State Department in 2017. 

The IDF's Arabic Spokesperson issued an evacuation warning to certain areas of Beirut in Lebanon in a post to X (Twitter) on Thursday evening.

In the message, he called for residents located in specific areas of the Bourj el-Barajneh neighborhood to evacuate, as the IDF would operate against Hezbollah-affiliated facilities in the area. The warning stated to remain at least 500 meters away from these areas. 

The IAF conducted a precise, intelligence-based strike in the area of Beirut earlier this week, eliminating the terrorist Mahmoud Yusef Anisi, a senior terrorist involved in Hezbollah's weapons manufacturing chain.

The possibility that Israel would target Iran's oil facilities in response to Iran's rocket attack on Tuesday is still under consideration, US President Joe Biden said on Thursday

Sen. Lindsey Graham criticized Biden's proportional response suggestion, urging Israel to defend itself against Iran's nuclear ambitions and threats.

Approximately 10 projectiles were identified crossing from Lebanon, which activated sirens in the Haifa Bay, Upper Galilee, and Central Galilee areas, the military announced late Thursday.

Some of the projectiles were intercepted, and the rest fell into open areas.

Later, Magen David Adom announced that there were no injuries from the barrage.

Israel Air Force aircraft targeted Hezbollah's Intelligence Headquarters in Beirut, the IDF reported on Thursday, following reports of large explosions in the Lebanese capital.

The IDF reported that IAF fighter jets, guided by intelligence from the Military Intelligence Directorate, targeted Hezbollah sites involved in the group's intelligence operations.

These strikes reportedly hit terrorists, intelligence-gathering equipment, and command centers.

The IDF has eliminated a terrorist armed with a knife who had approached the gate of the Yehuda Brigade headquarters, the IDF reported on Thursday.

No wounded were reported.
 

A total of 1,974 people have been killed, including 127 children, and 9,384 injured since the start of the Israeli attacks on Lebanon over the last year, the country's health minister Firass Abiad said on Thursday.
