IDF continues humanitarian efforts in northern Gaza amid military operations

The IDF has stated that it is taking measures to facilitate humanitarian aid while continuing its efforts against Hamas forces.

Humanitarian operations in northern Gaza, led by the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) and the IDF's 162nd Division, are ongoing despite active military engagements, the military announced on Tuesday. These efforts, particularly in the medical sector, are aimed at assisting civilians affected by the conflict.

As part of these efforts, 33 patients, medical staff, and accompanying personnel were safely evacuated from Kamal Adwan Hospital and transferred to functioning hospitals within Gaza. The operation was coordinated by COGAT’s Gaza Coordination and Liaison Administration (CLA) in collaboration with the Red Cross and the United Nations.

US says advanced anti-missile system in Israel operational soon

The Pentagon said components for an advanced anti-missile system began arriving in Israel on Monday and that it would be fully operational in the near future, according to a statement on Tuesday.

"Over the coming days, additional US military personnel and THAAD battery components will continue to arrive in Israel," Pentagon spokesperson Major General Pat Ryder said.

"The battery will be fully operational capable in the near future, but for operations security reasons, we will not discuss timelines."

A police officer died from a gunfire wound while being evacuated to Samson Assuta Ashdod University Hospital following a shooting terror attack, with another four wounded, on Highway 4 near Ashdod, the hospital reported on Tuesday.

The police confirmed that the terrorist was a resident of the Gaza Strip who arrived in Israel before the war and stayed here throughout the last year. They had approached the highway on foot, the police reported.

IDF, Border Police, and Shin Bet forces conducted a successful counter-terrorism operation in Jenin, eliminating two terrorists and arresting three suspects, the IDF reported on Tuesday.

In the operation, IDF soldiers operated in a building where wanted terrorists were hiding, leading to a gunfire exchange that resulted in the death of an armed terrorist and the apprehension of three individuals linked to terrorism. Simultaneously, reconnaissance forces engaged in a separate encounter in Kabatiya, where they eliminated a member of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad organization.

Israel is facing a potential shortage of defense system interceptor missiles as it bolsters air defenses against possible attacks from Iran and its proxies, the Financial Times reported on Tuesday.

If Iran and Hezbollah attack Israel simultaneously, Israel's air defenses may be overwhelmed, Dana Stroul, a former senior US defense official, explained to the Financial Times. “If Iran responds to an Israel attack and Hezbollah joins in too, Israel's air defenses will be stretched,” Stroul said.
