IDF probe reveals poorly defended Zikim base held despite seven deaths on Oct. 7

The military admitted to its problematic retreat from Zikim beach, but the soldiers involved faced no consequences.

Six IDF commanders and one soldier were killed by around 120 Hamas invaders at Zikim base on October 7, 2023, the military revealed in its probe on Sunday.

Nine total Hamas invaders were killed, two of whom were killed after they entered the base, and seven were killed nearby.

Security forces arrest 75 wanted persons, confiscate over 40 weapons in West Bank

Security forces arrested 75 wanted persons and confiscated over 40 weapons during operations in the West Bank over the past week, the IDF and Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) announced Sunday. 

Among those arrested were the head of a terrorist organization in Balata and a terrorist who was planning to carry out an attack in Kalkilya.

The security forces demolished the home of a terrorist in A-Ram, in Jerusalem, and confiscated a cache of weapons found in a women’s clothing store in Hebron.

Russia to fund construction of new nuclear plant in Iran

On top of funding the construction of a new nuclear plant in Iran, Russia will supply Iran with 55 billion cubic meters per year.

Russia will fund the construction of a new nuclear plant in Iran, Iranian Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad said at the closing ceremony of the 18th Joint Economic Cooperation Commission. 

The two countries will undertake "the construction of new nuclear energy facilities and the completion of phases two and three of the Bushehr power plant using Moscow's credit line," Paknejad said.
