Mayor Mato Frankovic instilled the ban, as part of the "Respect the City" initiative, with an attached fine of Rs 23630 (approximately 1,067.68 NIS or $287.83 USD) for breaching the ban.
The road was found on a peninsula artificially created by the neolithic Hvar culture in about 4900 BC.
If Croatia wants to move forward, it must, at last, come to terms with its history and with the suffering that it inflicted on so many innocents.
