The combat team of the 14th brigade, operating under the 162nd Division, uncovered seven shafts leading to Hamas tunnels.
Hagari also stated that IDF soldiers recently uncovered an underground Hamas military compound on the coast in the central Gaza Strip.
Rear admiral Hagari said “We estimate it is 50 meters deep and 4km long, and have found RPGs and AK-47s stored in depots. Many smaller tunnels lead off it.”
The tunnel under Shifa Hospital spanned over 250 meters, led to significant Hamas terrorist infrastructure and was a base for carrying out terror operations.
Troops from the Golani Brigade recovered weapons and ammunition from within a civilian building, reportedly including dozens of shoulder-fired missiles and grenades.
