The exchanges show the university officials downplaying students’ concerns about antisemitism and bashing the head of the school’s Hillel.
No one was hurt during the attack, although the Hillel Dnipro building sustained severe damage.
The demonstration — in which protesters scuffled with pro-Israel counterprotesters and were arrested, appeared to be the first across the City University of New York that directly targeted Hillel.
Two vandals smashed the glass doors at the USC Chabad. USC Chabad said it would continue to build Jewish life on campus by finishing the refurbishment of its center with new facilities.
On two campuses, activists are asking their schools to split from organizations closer to home that they say are complicit in Israeli crimes.
Incorrect reports about the dean of students sparked a "flurry of hate mail" against her.
The student said the increased attention on USC has made it difficult to focus on school, even as final exams are around the corner.
"If the university cannot be a place of learning, then what is the point? Universities across America must take action, and we are not asking asking for radical change," AJC President Deutch said.
"Now more than ever, the administration must make clear that antisemitism will not be tolerated at the University of Michigan," Hillel stated.
For far too long, the festering animosity towards Israel and, by extension, Jewish students, has gone largely unaddressed, been persistently overlooked, or simply ignored.
