University of Maryland Students for Justice in Palestine and Jewish Voice for Peace had been set to hold their October 7 vigil for Gazans killed in the Israel-Hamas War at a campus hall.
The groups were temporarily suspended last fall after pro-Palestinian students projected inflammatory messages on campus buildings weeks after the Oct. 7 attacks.
The protests were reportedly organized by Jewish Voices for Peace.
The Quaker narrative is full of Holocaust inversion, slogans accusing Israel of apartheid and genocide, and highlighting the “good Jews” from Jewish Voices for Peace (JVP).
Jewish Voice for Peace Columbia, Students for Justice in Palestine Columbia, and CUAD, a coalition of around 100 students groups, published on Instagram a statement of support for Casey Goonan.
JVP has reportedly failed to respond to four different requests for further information by the Federal Election Commission.
“I can no longer in good conscience represent this administration amidst President Biden’s disastrous, continued support for Israel’s genocide in Gaza," said the staffer.
"We must all refuse to sit by and allow history to repeat itself. To anyone who believes they can wait this out, the mobs will come for you, Jewish or not."
