Nahal Oz is a kibbutz in southern Israel near the Gaza border. Founded in 1951, the community was hit hard by the October 7 massacre, with residents killed, wounded, and taken hostage by Hamas terrorists. The town had to be evacuated following the attack.
The name Nahal Oz also refers to a nearby IDF base of the same name.
60 observers at the post were left without any protection, and the base gate was open and unsupervised.
In the released footage, Angrest can be seen surrounded by terrorists on the tank with his uniform ripped off the upper half of his body.
Michal Magen honored the women of the Nahal Oz community, highlighting their significant roles in future rebuilding efforts: “Our challenge - rebuild to be even better than before.”
The family of IDF observer Roni Eshel received her recovered belongings - her beret from the Nahal Oz outpost and rings found in a northern Gaza home.
"I try to live my life because the phrase 'you only live once' got a different meaning for me this year," said Daniella Gilboa in an Instagram post.
