Khamenei referred to Trump's remarks that "If they don't make a deal, there will be bombing...the likes of which they have never seen before."

The report comes amid contact between the Islamic Republic and the US over reported efforts to reach a nuclear deal.  

Trump pushes for a new nuclear deal with Iran to avoid military action, but Khamenei rejects talks, calling it a deception as US sanctions pressure Tehran.

The 'Post' learned that the earthquake was not caused by a nuclear test, seeing as the shocks were too close to a deep fault.

"Several bilateral issues will come up in the discussions," the Israeli official said. 

Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei rejected Trump's letter last week as deceptive, saying Trump's excessive demands would 'tighten the knot of sanctions and increase pressure on Iran.'

Europeans have also warned Iran: If there is no agreement by June-July, "a significant wave of sanctions will be imposed," a source told The Jerusalem Post.

Moving the weapons would serve as a deterrent against potential Russian aggression but is likely to be perceived as “highly provocative” in Moscow.

This is an important meeting that is coming as Iran increasingly seeks to ingratiate itself with China and Russia.
