In 1948, the State of Israel was established. So was the Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer.
Sheba offers over 159 clinics and medical departments and is also a major center of medical research.
In the summer of 2021, Sheba was among four Israeli hospitals named by Newsweek as the "World's Best Smart Hospitals," ranked at No. 13.

The center is to be home to startups and companies from multiple industries including biotech, AI, drug development, agriculture, and more.
About 150 members of Sheba Medical Center toured the site for the new Be'er Sheva and Negev hospital, which, according to Prof. Yitshak Kreiss, "is unlike any medical center in Israel or the world."
"I have never seen a similar case of hundreds of bees attacking one person," said Dr. Avi Ironi, director of the Sheba Emergency Medical Center.
“Our study provided a broad perspective for data analysis by both patients and treating physicians,” lead researcher Prof. Shelly Levy-Tzedek said.

The hospital responded that, unfortunately it was not possible due to " space restiants of the hospital" and that it wouldnt be "so comfortable."
Data on the treatment of the war wounded showed that survival after injury on the battlefield stood at over 98%, helping place the Sheba Medical Center at the top of the ranking.
