In 1948, the State of Israel was established. So was the Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer. 


Sheba offers over 159 clinics and medical departments and is also a major center of medical research. 


In the summer of 2021, Sheba was among four Israeli hospitals named by Newsweek as the "World's Best Smart Hospitals," ranked at No. 13.
