Updated: AUGUST 17, 2018 20:19 An attempted stabbing attack in Jerusalem's Old City took place Friday afternoon, the police spokesperson said, adding that police forces are circling the area. According to the police, the stabber approached a group of policemen in the Old City's Muslim Quarter and apparently tried to stab one of the officers. The stabber, a 30-year-old man from the village of Umm el-Fahm in northern Israel, was neutralized by the security forces, and has been confirmed dead. The police temporarily closed off Hagay Street in the Old City following the incident. The woman was hit as she crossed Route 60 near the outpost. The car appeared to be a Palestinian taxi, which fled the scene. Thursday's incident occurred close to the site of a January 9 terror attack in which Rabbi Raziel Shevach, a father of six, was shot dead by Palestinians as he drove near his home in the Havat Gilad outpost.
