If you know how to do it and at least when making it the first time you make sure and keep an eye on the microwave, you can cook a lot more in it than just heating the meatballs and rice from yesterday. Then, when you understand the power of your device and what it really requires in real time, the recipe quickly becomes easy, just like thawing a frozen pita.
This nimble wonder is part of Microwave, a new series of recipes and Tiktok videos by Sugat and Gal Zehavi, designed to introduce network hits into everyone's home kitchen. And this time - pesto risotto rich in butter and parmesan cheese. Forget standing and stirring over the stove, this recipe is going to change everything you thought about risotto (and micro).
Forget everything you knew. Microwave risotto
Ingredients:
A cup of rice for Sugat's risotto
Half a teaspoon of garlic powder
Half a teaspoon of salt
Three tablespoons of pesto spread
two tablespoons of butter
A glass and a half of water
A cup and a quarter of cream for cooking
A quarter cup of grated parmesan cheese
A cup of rice for Sugata's risotto
Half a teaspoon of garlic powder
Half a teaspoon of salt
Three tablespoons of pesto spread
Two tablespoons of butter.
Instructions:
1. Put the butter in a large, wide bowl that is suitable for use in the microwave, and melt it for about 30 seconds.
2. Add the rice for the risotto and the pesto to the bowl and mix. Add all the other ingredients except the Parmesan cheese, and mix again.
3. Cover the top of the bowl with a plate suitable for use in the microwave. It is important to leave a small slot for the steam to escape. Put the bowl in the microwave to cook for 5 minutes on high heat. Remove carefully with a towel, mix, cover again with a plate and cook for another 8-10 minutes.
4. Carefully remove with a towel from the microwave, mix the risotto a little with a fork, add the grated parmesan cheese on top and serve to the table.
