Orly Plai-Bronstein will help you survive the holiday in a more delicious, light and nutritious way with recipes from five simple ingredients. And this time - cheesy rice, an American dish that is especially loved by children. what's the trick
Cook the rice with vegetables that you like like corn, peas and broccoli, or those that you know how to assimilate well like onions, cabbage and cauliflower. Add mozzarella and parmesan cheeses that enrich the protein in the dish, and of course the taste and texture, and bake together until the edges become golden and crispy.
Ingredients for the recipe:
4 cups of cooked rice (no matter what kind)
2 chopped onions
A little olive oil for frying the onion
1 cup corn kernels (or peas/cauliflower florets/broccoli florets)
100 grams of grated mozzarella
3 tablespoons of grated parmesan
A little salt as needed
Preparation:
How do you make cheesy rice, or creamed rice?
1. Heat an oven to 200 degrees.
2. In a pan with a little olive oil, fry the chopped onion until nicely golden.
3. Grease a pyrex mold. The bigger it is, the more crunchy parts there will be.
4. Mix the cooked rice with the fried onion, mozzarella and corn. You can even mix in the baking dish, to save on utensils. Taste and add salt as needed.
5. Flatten the mixture in the mold and sprinkle the parmesan.
6. Put in the oven for 45 minutes, until the rice is golden.
