IDF declares Nitzana Border Crossing a 'closed military zone'

IDF prepares new perimeter for Gaza security defense lines

Abu Hamza, the spokesperson of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ)'s military wing, the Al-Quds Brigades, called on the Israeli public to urge the IDF to stop strikes on the Gaza Strip before the ceasefire takes into effect, or they might harm or kill Israeli hostages before their release, in a statement on Telegram on Saturday.

"The people of the enemy prisoners must demand that the Zionist army stop the bombardment of the last hours, which is the reason for the killing of your children while the resistance is making the final field arrangements for their release," the statement began.

"The intensity of the Zionist bombardment leads us towards two paths, the first of which is that the families of the Zionist prisoners receive their children in coffins or [safely] in their homes, and the choice of the last hours is in the hands of the Zionist army alone," the warning concluded.

Lebanon's new president stresses urgency of Israeli withdrawal from south under truce deal

The Lebanese president told the UN's Guterres during a meeting in Beirut that continued Israeli breaches were a violation of Lebanese sovereignty and the agreed ceasefire deal.

Lebanon's new president Joseph Aoun stressed to United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Saturday the urgency of an Israeli military withdrawal as stipulated by a ceasefire deal that ended the Israel-Hezbollah war in November.

According to a statement by the Lebanese presidency on X, Aoun told Guterres during a meeting in Beirut that continued Israeli breaches were a violation of Lebanese sovereignty and the agreed ceasefire deal.

The ceasefire, which took effect on Nov. 27 and was brokered by the United States and France, requires Israeli forces to withdraw from southern Lebanon within 60 days, and for Hezbollah to remove all its fighters and weapons from the south.

Israelis split on whether gov't achieved its war goals in fight against Hamas, poll finds

Nearly half of survey respondents (45%) said that the government is partially meeting the war goals. Another 8% responded that it was fully meeting them.

A slight majority of Israelis believe that the government is either partially or fully meeting the war goals it set for itself, according to a Maariv survey published on Saturday.

Nearly half of survey respondents (45%) said that the government is partially meeting the war goals. Another 8% responded that it was fully meeting them.

On the other side, 36% of the public thought the government had failed to meet any of its goals. Another 11% said they did not know.
