Syrian armed forces and patrols are facing frequent fire from Hezbollah terrorists seeking to rearm after its war against Israel.
Maj. Gen. Abbas Ibrahim, who is reported to have connections with the Iran-backed Hezbollah terror group, has previously claimed he is immune from prosecution.
A senior Hezbollah official said the group was prepared to engage in talks with Aoun if Israel withdrew from south Lebanon and halted its military strikes.
The IDF clarified that there is no concern over security issues nor over an information leak.
"Hezbollah is ready to discuss the matter of its arms if Israel withdraws from the five points, and halts its aggression against Lebanese," the senior official told Reuters.
In addition to losing monopoly over airspace, Hezbollah also lost control of land supply routes following the fall of the Assad regime in Syria in December.
